Good Monday Morning!
Get Back Up! When you fall down, because you will fall down, Get Back Up!!! So just in case you didn’t know this, the Super Bowl is this coming Sunday! And last Sunday my Pastor Marc was talking about Hope and how Hope can liberate us from our past failures. And he mentioned Walter Payton, one of the greatest running backs EVER! And inspired your Mindset Monday!
In his 13-year career, Walter Payton ran for 16726 Yards, that’s over 9.5 miles. That’s a long way. But did you know, every 4.4 yards he was knocked down. He averaged a lttle over 20 carries per game. And he knew that every game, guys were going to try to hurt him. Walter Payton knew that he was going to fall. He knew that he was going to get taken down and crushed all day. He Knew IT! And he got up EVERY TIME! Every time he ran he got thrown down, pushed, pulled, body slammed, and generally beaten up every 4.4 yards. And every time, HE GOT BACK UP and did it again. And again. And again.
And You Can TOO! In every aspect of your life! GET BACK UP! Because guess what life’s hard, PFT’s hard, changing your life is hard, setting and achieving goals is hard. Like Rocky says, “the world not all sunshine and rainbows, it’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently If You Let It”! The key is “if you let it.” So… GET BACK UP!!!
My challenge to you this week or the rest of your life is to Get Back Up! Know that life is going to try to stop you from being above average. I’m not just talking about working out at PFT or wherever you train. I’m talking about life. Don’t let anything stop you from Getting Back Up when you fall.
In fact, I want you to go out there and risk it. Do something you’re uncomfortable doing. Whether it’s grabbing a heavier dumbbell or bigger sandbag at the gym, or doing something you’ve always dreamed of doing but were afraid you might “fail”. Or maybe because you thought weren’t good enough or you weren’t worthy. Because you are! You are good enough. You are worthy. And yeah you might stumble, and you might fall. But you will never fail if you just GET BACK UP.
