Form Friday: Lateral Pushup to Row

Push-ups and rows are a staple in any workout program. Done correctly, both of these exercises can potentially build strength, endurance, and power in the upper body. In the lateral push-up, one side (the working side) performs about 90% of the work, while the other side (the non-working side) really only helps to keep you stable through the movement. When these exercises are combined, the additional challenge of core stability is presented. However, to get the maximum benefit, both of these movements must be performed with Pure Form in a coordinated effort.

The “Regular” and “Dark” Spidey. These functional and focused core moves are great ways to add stability, form and taper to your torso. We all like the thought of a trim waist and lean hips right?! This move, done correctly, will help you strengthen your core for better function in ALL your movements, not just your PFT moves!

Intermittent Fasting: Bite Sized Breakdown

Hey PFT Family! I'm sitting in Starbucks (as I write this) sipping on my small (tall if you're being picky about it) black coffee. I was in Tahoe and I had a couple of my resistance bands with me, and I wanted to get in a good total body strength core cardio workout. All you need for this workout is one resistance band which weighs less than a pound, plus some good hard will and determination to give it your very best!

5K Run and Workout NAMI Benefit

On May 20, PureFormPFT hosted a 5K run and fit squad parking lot workout in memory of Tim Ergonis. The PFT family came together to remember and celebrate Tim, to honor the Ergonis family, and to raise awareness for the cause of mental illness. All proceeds for the run and workout went to support NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, and all funding will help reduce stigma about mental illness and support the millions of Americans who face mental illness every day.
